Our  Philosophy:

Our designs draw inspiration from historical and cultural contexts unique to the Rocky Mountain environment as well as influences from mid-century, contemporary and modern design themes.  Each project is different and customized to our clients desires & architectural ideas as well as the specific environmental site features.

How  We  Work:

We believe in the team approach for making our projects successful. That starts with you, the Owner as this is your home!  We have found that working from the start with an experienced local general contractor (GC) on the team makes all the difference. We act as your team leader, guiding you through the design process while gathering valuable information from our GC and other consultants to insure your home is on time and on budget.

We use the latest technology (AutoCAD, Revit & SketchUp) to create construction documents that are clear, concise and complete so those bidding on the project can give you better costs without guessing.

Ninety percent of our clients are from out of town and we have figured out how to seamlessly lead you through the design process by using email, screen-sharing, Go-To-Meeting, Skype and even occasionally we will overnight hard copies of drawings at the clients request.

Why  Us?:

Our personalized service and great communications will keep your project running smoothly.  Most of all, we take pride in our ability to listen to our clients’ dreams for their home and transform those dreams into reality.  As you look through this portfolio of some of our work please notice that every project is different. You may not see your ‘dream house’ in these pages as we have not created it yet!

If You can dream it, We can design it!

Sustainability:

We think building Green it is a great idea. However, we let our clients dictate how much they want to engage the amazing technologies and multitude of products now available in the Green Building industry. The possibilities range from just a little bit Green to creating a Net-Zero home—most clients fall someplace in the middle.

We have found that many of the quality building systems, materials and construction techniques we use on most projects are by default Green. By using them, your home will utilize less energy and have a healthy environment with little to no effort on your part. Some of the systems, materials and techniques we recommend are as follows:

Systems:

  • ultra high-efficient wall mounted boilers & ‘side arm’ systems
  • in-floor hydronic heating
  • Smart Home type lighting & thermal controls
  • LED Lighting & Energy Star rated appliances
  • Low Flow/Duel Flush Toilets & Eco rated plumbing fixtures

Materials:

  • spray & blown-in insulation
  • super high quality insulated windows
  • FSC Certified wood products for framing, cabinets & trim
  • Rapid cycle wood products where appropriate
  • Formaldehyde Free composite woods where used
  • No / Low VOC coatings and finishes
  • Sustainable choices for wood floor materials
  • Local & Regional Sustainable Materials (beetle kill in Colorado)

Techniques:

  • Using local talented craftsman
  • On-site recycling

Additionally, we use ‘passive’ design strategies to take advantage of day-lighting, natural ventilation, and solar energy.

Put it all together, you are on your way to a Green home without even trying!

For those Owners looking for additional ‘active’ systems for ‘clean’ energy sources we can use geo-thermal, solar and wind to tie-in and complement the other systems being used in the home.
